The FHPF realizes that not everyone can come to our historical and genealogical research library to do their own research. For that reason FHPF provides research services for people unable to travel to Marshall.
FHPF does not have a paid staff. It relies on the work of its volunteers to provide research services. The service includes genealogical and historical research subjects depending upon the number of available volunteers, kind of research, and the amount of time to complete the specific project. The research will utilize various resources available in The Gott Library including county histories, family histories, cemetery records, surname and place name files, death and marriage records, and newspaper indexes. This list does not mean to imply that the research would necessarily be limited to those items enumerated.
Research Results are Not Predictable - It is important to understand that you will be billed for research time, regardless of the quantity of results. Researchers can promise to spend research time wisely, but we cannot guarantee what, if anything, we may find. Many hours of diligent research may produce a rich family history, or find only scant trace of your ancestors who may have tread only lightly in Fauquier County. Results will vary for reasons beyond your researcher's control. Send your request form and payment via email or regular mail to:
